About

I am a teacher, historian and bass player. I currently live in the Republic of Ireland. Love the arts especially drama my favourites include, but are not limited to, Shakespeare, O’Casey and Oscar Wilde. Poetry is a passion anything from Yeats to John Cooper Clarke. Music is an important part of my life and I listen to absolutely everything but I have a particular fondness for Punk and the music of the 1970s. As a historian I love the Victorian period and I am interested in early feminist movements. As an Irishman I do have a love for Irish history, however I also have a keen interest in the Americas. I adore American authors especially Twain, Steinbeck and Toni Morrison. I also fancy myself as an amateur Joycean but I still have to scale the dizzy heights of the Wake.

I post a blog entry once a month on some of the above but also on anything that tickles my fancy. Feel free to comment as I always reply. My poems have been published online as part of the twitter community project (see link below).

For April 2013 I am also taking part in the poem a day for national poetry month:

Most recently I have been published in a local book called ‘Famous First Words’ published by Culture Factory.
